The 2023 Action Sprint Tour fueled by Pinty’s is a championship for winged Sprint Cars. The Action Sprint Tour is a championship for winged sprint cars. These open-wheel tube frame Sprint Cars are powered by spec engines. Teams must use one of two GM Circle Track Crate Engines – part #88869602 or part #19258602. The motors are equipped with a Holley carburetor fitted on a 350-cu.in. V8 engine, which produces 350 horsepower @ 5,400 rpm. The cars are not equipped with a starter motor and require a push to start.

The chassis rules are simple. They must be a four-post design and cannot use chassis or suspension cockpit adjustable devices. Brakes are limited to steel or aluminum rotors. Spec Hoosier Tires are mounted on eighteen-inch wide wheels on the right and left rear; wheels must not exceed fifteen inches.

After a race, this competitive package must weigh no less than 1,600 pounds (with the driver and no fuel).

Last year's Action Sprint Tour proved to be such a success that Series Officials created three schedules for the 2023 season.

    The western tour ran support events for the NASCAR Pinty's Series on August 14 and 15 at Ohsweken Speedway.

    Rounds six and seven of the 2023 Oakwood Transport Action Sprint Tour West were held at Ohsweken Speedway. On Monday and Tuesday evenings, drivers competed in one of two qualifying heats and, if necessary, a B-main to determine which drivers would start the feature. The final contest of the evening was twenty-five laps around the 0.375-mile dirt oval.

    To motivate drivers and increase entries, the title sponsor, Sit'N Bull Tire, was awarded the winner $5,000.

    Drivers were initially scheduled to compete on Tuesday evening; however, officials rescheduled the race for Wednesday when rain was forecasted for Tuesday.

  • The pace lap for Monday evening's A-Main and twenty-four Oakwood Action Transport Sprint Tour West competitors enter turn four. John Cadman is on the pole in the No. 71C Bristol RV / Powersports Link Financing Crate Sprint. Beside Cadman is Dale Curran driving the No. 31C Veggie Shack sponsored Crate Sprint. The second row is occupied by the No. 71 car of Mike Bowman and Jesse Costa in the No. 52.
    Mike Bowman proved unbeatable in rounds six and seven of the Oakwood Transport Action Sprint Tour West at Ohsweken. On Monday, Bowman finished first in his qualifying race and started the feature in third place. By the fourth lap, he was out front for the win. The second night went much the same; Bowman was victorious in the heat race and won the feature from the sixth spot. For his efforts, he earned $10,000.
    The No. 71C Bristol RV Crate Sprint was driven by John Cadman. Cadman is new to dirt racing but has experience on the pavement. He had a successful stint in the 80s and 90s competing in thePlayers GM series and most recently campaigned a Super Late Model. In round six, Cadman finished second in his heat and started the A-Main on the pole. He finished in the runner-up spot. On Wednesday, Cadman was the first to retire.
    Rob Neely pilots the No. 74 Radionshuttle / Hot Tub Movers Crate Sprint. Neely currently sits sixteenth in the Strickland's 602 Crate Sprints point standings with two top-five finishes and six top-ten results. On Monday at Ohsweken, he finished second in the qualifier and advanced two positions in the feature to capture the final spot on the podium. In round seven, Neely qualified and finished fifth in the A-Main.
    The top three finishers for Monday evening's contest at Ohsweken Speedway. In the center is the winner, Mike Bowman. Bowman earned $5,000 for the victory from the title sponsor Sit'N Bull Tire. To the right of Bowman is the runner-up, John Cadman. This was Cadman's first podium result in his short dirt racing career. Completing the top three is Rob Neely.
    Jesse Costa entered the doubleheader event at Ohsweken Speedway second in the Strickland's 602 Crate Sprints point standings. Costa's record included a win plus four top-five and ten top-10 finishes. He drove the No. 52 Wells Foundry Crate Sprint. On Monday, Costa finished third in the qualifier and seventh in the A-Main. In the event's final race, he started on the pole and finished behind the winner, Mike Bowman.
    Brockville's Matt Billings competes in the Suprenant Truck Shop Action Sprint Tour East Tour Schedule but occasionally visits Ohsweken Speedway. He drives the No. 52 Crate Sprint car with backing from Slate's Marine Construction. Billings finished fifth in Monday's feature after starting thirteenth. In round seven, he started second, but there was no stopping Mike Bowman and Billings finished third.
    The top three finishers for the final event of the doubleheader. In the center, once again, is the winner, Mike Bowman. Combined with his victory on Monday, Bowman earned a grand total of $10,000 from the sponsor Sit'N Bull Tire. On the left is the runner-up, Jesse Costa, who finished seventh on Monday. Completing the top-three finishers and travelling from eastern Ontario is the third-place finisher, Matt Billings.
