Sebring - March 13 - 16, 2002
Sebring
2002 marked the 50th anniversary of the 12-hour classic. Click below for the photos: Michael Galati got the jump on the field from his pole position and never looked back, taking the opening round of the World Challenge GT series. We've got photographs from the event, which can be seen below: 2001 Touring Champion, Pierre Kleinubing, trailed Ken Dobson in the race's latter stages, but passed for the win on the final lap. Mosport - May 17 - 19, 2002
Mosport
Round 2 of the Trans Am series took place at Mosport on the Victoria Day long weekend. Boris Said had it all his way as he won by 23.5 seconds. Check out the links below: The World Challenge events at Mosport had two first time winners. In the GT class it was David Farmer who also recorded Corvette's first World Challenge win since 2000. Images from the event are below: Ken Dobson has come close to winning a World Challenge Touring event on a number of occasions but finally did the trick at Mosport. Watkins Glen - June 21 - 23, 2002
Watkins Glen
Dyson Racing dominated the Grand Am 6 Hours of The Glen event. The team's pair of Riley & Scott's started the race on the front row and led the entire distance. Our images can be seen by clicking the links below: The Grand Am Cup cars made their annual visit to the historic Watkins Glen circuit. The fans were treated to two races - the first for Sport Touring cars followed by the Grand Sports class.

Mid Ohio - June 28 - 30, 2002
Mid Ohio
The ALMS cars made their second visit to the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. The photo links are below: It was Michael Galati all the way in the World Challenge GT race at Mid-Ohio. After qualifying on the pole, the local favorite led flag-to-flag. Click below to see the images: Will Turner ended a three-year win drought, taking the Touring round at Mid-Ohio. There was plenty of action with over 50 entries. Click below to see images from this event: Butch Leitzinger started from the pole and went flag to flag to win the Trans Am race at Mid-Ohio. However, a late race full course yellow created a four-car dash to the end.

Trois Rivieres - August 2 - 4, 2002
Trois Rivieres
Trois-Rivieres, Quebec is the home of a racing tradition that began in 1967. The Trans Am cars returned to Trois-Rivieres after a two-year absence. Butch Leitzinger took the win despite a serious challenge from Boris Said. Click below to see the Trans Am action: Randy Pobst led flag-to-flag in the World Challenge GT race at Trois-Rivieres. But it was no easy feat as Michael Galati hounded him for the entire distance. Check the images below: Taking advantage of the competition's problems, fifth place starter, Chuck Hemmingson won the World Challenge Touring event at Trois-Rivieres. Mosport - August 16 - 18, 2002
Mosport
The ALMS cars made their annual trek to Mosport and the event was not without its surprises. Click below to see photographs of the ALMS cars: Mosport fans were lucky enough to see the World Challenge Touring cars compete in May and August. The last lap shoot-out between Bonaccorsi, Fitzgerald and Turner made for an exciting finish.

Circuit Mont-Tremblant - September 13 - 15, 2002
Circuit Mont-Tremblant
The Grand Am series got their first taste of the newly renovated Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant. After winning five straight races, Dyson Racing was finally de-throned by Doran Racing. The Grand Am Cup battles heated up at Mont-Tremblant as only two events remained in the championship. Attempting to score maximum points made for some exciting racing at this historic track.

Mosport - September 28 - 29, 2002
Mosport
All good things must come to an end and after 6 years the Canada GT Challenge Cup series is no more. It seems appropriate that the series benefactor and past champion Klaus Bytzek won the final race.
