MOSPORT - LMP

The No. 2 Joest entered Audi driven by Frank Biela and Emanuele Pirro survived the elements and used pit stop strategy to take the win at Mosport. Their teammates, Rinaldo Capello and Tom Kristensen, crashed on the opening lap but returned after repairs only to suffer a bigger wreck later in the event.

The duo of Andy Wallace and Johnny Herbert shared the 2000-spec Champion Audi R8. Late in the race Herbert erased ten seconds from a twelve second cushion held by race leader Emanuele Pirro. Unfortunately, Herbert tired too hard and crashed at Mosport's corner two - finishing fourteenth overall.

The No. 5 Reynard 01Q-Judd was the quickest car in LMP675, however, the team started from the back of the grid after a rear wing infraction. Didier de Radigues started the car and diced with Claudia Huertgen until her engine failed. From that point on it was clear sailing to the class victory for de Radigues and his co-driver Bruno Lambert.

After the Panoz team dropped the ill-fated LMP07 in favour of the older LMP1 - Roadster S their fortunes changed. In the previous two rounds the team had scored a win and second place. At Mosport David Brabham and Jan Magnussen qualified third and finished second overall and in LMP900.

Attrition in the LMP900 category helped the Cadillac LMP 01 of Max Angelelli and Wayne Taylor finish fourth overall and in class. The pair qualified sixth but were passed by a couple of quicker LMP900 cars that retired during the race.

The Dyson Riley & Scott Mk IIIC made their first return to the series since Sebring. The team qualified fifth but failed the air box stall test. Then the car shared by Butch Leitzinger and James Weaver wouldn't start on the grid or during a pit stop. Late in the race Leitzinger went off the track but the duo was still able to finish fifth.

John Graham spins at corner three in the Dick Barbour Racing Reynard 01 Q-Judd. Graham shared the car with Milka Duno. The pair finished twentieth overall and second in LMP675.
