TROIS RIVIERES - GRAND AM

The Grand Am race at Trois Rivieres was split into two races. In one group were the SRP, SRP II and GTS entries. The other race included the AGT, GT and SGS Grand Am Cup cars. James Weaver and Butch Leitzinger won the race and were trailed by their Dyson teammates, Dorsey Schroeder and Elliott Forbes-Robinson.

Scott Maxwell led much of the SRP II race but ran out of gas while trying to make it back to the pits for a splash and dash. Here he is chased by the No. 21 Archangel Lola of Ben Devlin and Jean-Francois Veilleux, which finished second in SRP II.

George Robinson and Jack Baldwin shared the Robinson Racing Judd powered Riley and Scott. They finished where they started fourth in the Sports Racing Prototype class and overall.

The No. 02 Mosler MT900R was driven by Ian James and Scott Deware. They qualified the car eighth overall and in the GT class. Unfortunately, they were the first to retire from the race with transmission problems.

John Field hit the tire wall during practice at the Duplessis Arch. Things didn't go much better during the race as the Judd powered Lola he shared with Oliver Gavin retired with a broken drive shaft.

American GT competitors Kenny Bupp and Jon Leavy were classified third in class despite some damage to their Camaro.

Ross Bentley and Didier Theys finished on the same lap as the race leader and took the final position on the podium. They qualified fifth in the No. 27 Lista Doran Racing entered Ferrari Judd.

Steve Marshall and Darren Law had problems throughout the weekend. They qualified the G & W Motorsports Porsche GT2 thirteenth overall and were the first car to retire with an engine failure.

The Porschehaus Racing Lola lifts the right front wheel through the first turn. Drivers Stephane Veilleux and Jean-Francois Veilleux were able to capitalize on Scott Maxwell's fuel problem to capture the SRP II win.

Finishing second in the GT class were Matt Drendel and Darren Law. Here the G & W Motorsports prepared Porsche GT3R passes through the Duplessis Arch.

Spencer Pumpelly decided to drive the Trois Rivieres event solo. Pumpelly took the lead on lap nine from the pole sitting AGT Corvette of Kerry Hitt. Eighty-two laps later, with Darren Law closing fast, he captured the victory in the ZIP/Pumpelly Racing Porsche GT3R.
