SEBRING - GTS

Franz Konrad shared his Saleen S7R with Terry Borcheller and Oliver Gavin. The Konrad team staged a race long duel with the No. 4 factory Corvette and won the GTS class by one lap.

Andy Pardoe, Tom Weikardt and Joe Ellis drove the No. 44 Dodge Viper GTS-R. They started last but were able to finish fifth in GTS and twenty-second overall.

The No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette shared by Ron Fellows, Johnny O'Connell and Chris Kneifel qualified right behind the pole sitting GTS Saleen S7R. However, starter problems, which began early in the event, prevented the Corvette from refiring after pit stops. The team was able to manage a third place finish in class.

The second American Viper Racing entry faired slightly better than their teammates. They finished fourth in the GTS class and eighteenth overall. Erik Messley, Jeff Altenburg and Stu Hayner drove the car.

The No. 4 factory Corvette of Franck Freon, Kelly Collins and Andy Pilgrim chased the winning Saleen the entire distance. The team took the GTS lead briefly late in the race but had to relinquish it after the last pit stop to the winning Konrad entry.
