Hampton and Oberto captured seven SRP II victories during the 2000 season, which was enough for them to secure the driver's championship. At Watkins Glen the trio finished third in class. |

Going into the final round at Watkins Glen Belgian Didier Theys had a mathematical chance of catching James Weaver for the SRP championship. However, that possibility ended on lap 85. Theys shared the Doran Judd with Ross Bentley and Fredy Lienhard, which retired with engine and suspension problems. |
| James Weaver, Andy Wallace and Butch Leitzinger drove the No. 16 Riley & Scott. The trio was able to take the victory at the Six Hours of The Glen and secure the driver's championship in SRP for Weaver. |

Finishing two laps behind the class winning Mustang Saleen SR were Eric Messley and Stu Hayner in the No. 46 Dodge Viper GTS-R. Messley took a comfortable second in the final GTO driver's standings. |
| The Aponte Brothers team had a difficult race. The Mazda RX-7 driven by Pacasio Aponte and Angel Blanc completed only 78-laps and were classified eighteenth in GTU. |

Champion Racing entered their Porsche powered Lola for Dorsey Schroeder, Bob Wolleck and Dirk Muller. The car was not competitive qualifying behind some of the quicker SRP II entries. The team finished twenty-first overall and seventh in class. |
| Craig Conway, Doug Goad and Troy Flis took the American GT honours at Watkins Glen. The Spirit of Daytona entry won the 2000 Team Owner's title but the win at The Glen was not enough for Conway and Goad to take the driver's championship. They finished second to Doug Mills in the final standings. |

| The top GTO finisher was the Saleen-Allen Speedlab Mustang Saleen SR of Terry Borcheller and Ron Johnson. Borcheller and Johnson easily captured the 2000 Grand-AM GTO driver's championship. Their entrants, Saleen-Allen Speedlab, took the Team Owner's title. |

Comer Racing entered the No. 84 Chevrolet Camaro. At Watkins Glen the drivers were John Finger, Mayo Smith and Andy McNeil. The trio finished fourth in American GT. |
| Final grid positions for the six-hour event were set by two qualifying races Friday evening. The race for American GT, GTO and GTU cars was won by Irv Hoerr. He shared the No. 91 Camaro with Roger Schramm and Werner Frank. Unfortunately, the team didn't enjoy the same success in Sunday's race. |

David Lacey, Greg Wilkens and Peter Czadka shared the Doncaster Racing Porsche 911 Turbo. The team finished fourth in the GTO category and twenty-seventh overall. |
