Despite the popularity of Laguna Seca, none of the current series drivers had ever competed on this track in a Trans-Am car. Maybe this fact contributed to Kenny Wilden winning his first Trans Am race. | Alfred DuPont gave BMW its third straight victory in the 2000 World Challenge Touring Car Championship at Laguna Seca. DuPont led flag-to-flag to take his first series win. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is one of the newest racing facilities in America and despite being a Roval is described by drivers as quite challenging.
